While in middle school, Buddy played electric bass for several area southern gospel bands. When Buddy was a junior in high school he entered a talent contest at FFA summer camp. In the 8 years with Out and Runnin' they cut two cds, 'First Ride' and self titled 'Out and Runnin'. In the Fall of 2009 Out and Runnin' and the bluegrass gospel band, The Soul Pickers, merged together and became The Bluegrass Soul Pickers that recorded on Blue Circle Records that Tom T. and Dixie Hall own.
